Sarah O’Keefe is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Missouri who holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Northwest Missouri State University and a Master’s of Arts in Counseling and Guidance from The University of Missouri-Kansas City. Sarah’s practice focus is helping those who have experienced the trauma of sexual abuse and sexual assault. Sarah’s education and training include significant experience working with clients at the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA), where she honed her skills in trauma treatment and the treatment of sexually-oriented trauma.

Sarah works primarily with women, children, teens and adolescents who have acted out sexually as well as those who have been sexually victimized. Sarah’s warm and welcoming approach to her clients along with excellent clinical skills and training provide an avenue of healing that is often difficult to find in a confidential, private practice setting.

Sarah is a Level 2 EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist and a practitioner of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Play Therapy, including Sand Tray therapy. Play Therapy and Sand Tray therapy are widely and successfully used with children and young adults who are victims of trauma, helping them express themselves non-verbally and with less shame and resistance that traditional talk therapy. Sarah’s training, approach and demeanor bring healing and a supportive environment to her clients, creating healing and resilience.
